Described by media sources as a “game changer,” Galleria Mall Condos will soon be transforming Toronto’s fast-changing Wallace Emerson neighbourhood into one of the city’s most advanced areas. This visionary development is designed to function as a self-contained community on the site of the Galleria Mall, which has been one of the city’s flagship shopping hubs since the early 1970s. The unprecedented scale of the project will include fivedistinct blocks featuring residential, commercial, and retail spaces, along with expansive tracts of parkland, a state-of-the-art community centre, and a long list of other appealing features.
This condominium project will be a community-focused, pedestrian-friendly node on the southwest corner of Dupont Street and Dufferin Street. While no firm date has been set for the completion of this ambitious and forward-thinking project, current reports indicate that the development team hopes to break ground on construction by Spring of 2019.
Galleria On The Park Condos will mark a massive upgrade to the Galleria Mall shopping centre, which has occupied the upcoming master-planned community’s site since 1972. The project’s developers envision a thriving new pedestrian-friendly and bike-friendly village comprised of eight new high-rise towers. These towers will be clustered around Galleria Mall’s current facilities, which include a low-rise shopping mall and a 700-spot parking lot. The Development will incorporate many of the site’s existing buildings and store frontages into its incredible design, all while making far better use of the prime real estate currently occupied by the underutilized open-air car park.
According to current reports, the developers have committed 25% of the community’s enormous surface area to parklands, which will be purpose-built and professionally landscaped. These parklands will join a 51,000 square foot (4,738 square metre) community centre and 150 units of affordable housing as the first elements to be built. A new road will also be constructed, creating a direct diagonal connection between the community’s Dufferin Street and Dupont Street frontages. This road will culminate at 5 Points Plaza, a brand-new outdoor square that will serve as the development’s central hub.
Existing storefronts and restaurants will enjoy new life as part of this master planned condo community, which will become a family-friendly retail and entertainment hotspot that also caters to cyclists and pedestrians. Once all seven of the new towers are complete, this condominium community will include an astonishing 3,000 residential units with a complete range of studio, 1-bedroom to 3 bedroom floor plans. The tallest tower will reportedly reach a zenith of 42 storeys, with the most compact high-rise in the community ascending to a peak of 18 storeys. First Phase will be about 420 units with two towers - 27 and 22 storeys - located at north west corner. Sizes will range from 450 - 1500 sq ft.
This development will set a new precedent for high-density development in central Toronto. Quite simply, there isn’t anything else like it anywhere in the city, and it’s going to mark a huge leap forward for smart and progressive property development in Canada’s largest metropolitan centre.

Named for the neighbourhood’s central intersection of Wallace Avenue and Emerson Avenue, Wallace Emerson is among Toronto’s fastest-changing and most dynamic districts. Historically, Wallace Emerson’s major roadways have housed commercial and retail spaces, along with a robust concentration of industrial activity. Its side streets are home to leafy, quiet neighbourhoods mainly comprised of houses and smaller apartment buildings.
In recent years, many of Wallace Emerson’s industrial lands have been repurposed as local residential development has accelerated. As a result, the entire character of the neighbourhood has enjoyed a dramatic upgrade, with the gentrification invigorating the district.

Cycling paths, pedestrian walkways, and other accessibility features will connect the community to the surrounding neighbourhood, which already has a 95/100 Walk Score. Residents will also be seven minutes away from the Dufferin TTC subway station, and drivers can reach the centre of Toronto’s downtown core in about a quarter of an hour. Motorists will also be able to reach the 401 in mere minutes, as an entry point to the Allen Expressway is located just a few blocks north of Galleria Mall.
